High security environments, such as prisons, police stations etc. are constantly dealing with high levels of vandalism and abusive behavior, requiring robust and reliable products.
Over the years Stern has specialized in developing and manufacturing an unique range of faucets, showers and flushing systems which meet the strictest requirements by modern high security environments in terms of safety, hygiene, water saving and installation & maintenance.

Piezo solution which includes two stainless steel piezo switches.
The first piezo switch, located in the inmate’s cell, allows to flush the toilet. The flush valve body is concealed in the service area. Each activation gives a pre-set flow cycle. Special settings such as 24 hours mandatory hygiene flush, lock out time and pre-set flow cycle can be customized according to the specific project requirements.
The second Piezo switch (distant unit) is integrated in a stainless steel panel at a concealed box.
This remote control, outside the cell, allows sudden search procedures for drugs or weapons. The prison personnel can deactivate or activate the possibility to flush the in-cell toilet without entering the cell.
Alternative use: The distant unit can also be programmed as a distant flush-activator for people with disabilities.

The Piezo switch is located in the inmate’s cell, while the flush valve body is concealed in the service area. Each activation gives a pre-set flow cycle.
Special settings such as 24 hours mandatory hygiene flush, lock out time and pre-set run cycle can be customized according to the specific project requirements.
The robust design and the fact that the switch has no moving parts almost completely eliminate the need for maintenance. The Piezo button has a vandal resistant, anti ligature design with a «non hold open» feature.

Together with the Stern’s anti-ligature, vandal resistant shower head it is ideal for high security environments. The flow time is fully programmable. Lock-out times available upon request.
Each inmate’s cell has a self-closing piezo switch to turn the shower on and off. The Piezo switch is installed into a vandal proof face panel and is connected to a solenoid valve behind the wall, which opens and closes the water flow when the switch s touched. Each activation gives a pre-set flow cycle at a pre-determined temperature.
