Architectural Sales Manager – New York City

Stern Engineering is a world leader in the commercial sanitary market, producing touch-free faucets, automatic soap dispensers, hand dryers, flush valves, toilet partitions, and related accessories.
We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic Architecture Sales Manager for the NYC territory. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a strong work ethic and be comfortable working with architects, designers, engineers and contractors. Responsibilities

  • Building and sustaining long-lasting relationships with new and existing architects, designers, engineers and contractors.
  • Travel within an assigned sales territory to conduct face-to-face meetings and product presentations with existing and potential customers.
  • Consult directly with architects and designers to create brand awareness and generate specifications.
  • Continually meeting or exceeding sales targets by selling company products to new and existing customers.
  • Developing and implementing an effective sales strategy to drive sales.
  • Maintaining an accurate record of all leads, customer accounts, and sales.
  • Collaborating with the marketing department and other sales reps to expand brand presence by creating suitable marketing materials.
  • Researching competitors’ products and pricing as well as market conditions.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest industry developments by attending meetings, training workshops, trade shows and industry events.
  • Strategically negotiating with potential and existing customers to close sales.

Requirements

  • Technical or Bachelor’s degree with experience in commercial interior design, architecture, or material specification. Experience in the commercial sanitary product is an advantage.
  • Architectural rep experience is required, applications without such experience will not be processed.
  • Existing relationship with architects and designers in the New York metropolitan area.
  • Strong sales skills. Proven outside sales and business development experience.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications, familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Domestic travel as necessary.
